Despite traveling from downtown Manhattan, it's worth it because Rafaela doesn't just provide an excellent, long-lasting wax; she is also caring, sweet, and makes you feel appreciated as a valued customer.

I must admit, the waxing process requires resilience and strength, but the results are worth it. With Rafaela, you can expect smooth skin that lasts for the entire month without irritation. Rafaela is a gem. This type of wax is unique uptown and she gets the job done. I've been going to her for three years. Its convenient and she does a great job. Its not fancy, but she's good at what she does. Another review mentioned heavy handed but honestly I don't want someone who doesn't move quickly and get the job done in a timely matter doing my wax. Rafaela doesn't waste time.

Worst waxing experience ever. Will never go here again. I went off a referral and it was terrible, lady was way too heavy handed. She was just ripping my hairs off, kept telling me to relax when i was in pain and couldn’t. I was also pregnant so was very sensitive down there. Asked her to please not tweeze at the end it being that i was already in so much pain from her roughness and she told me “it’s her job and she has to do her job” again told her, “no it’s okay. Kept telling me about how she has years working with skin care and etc. She was rude, in my experience. It was painful and felt just as hurtful as hard wax. It’s now been 2 weeks and my hairs are already starting to grow back. I’ve sugared before and i last a month and a half without having hair growing back. Don’t waste your time on going here.

Don't be fooled by rowdiness in the salon. Rafaela is sterile, hygienic and quick. I have been sugared for a long time and can tell that she has obviously been doing this for awhile because of her efficiency and knowledge. I highly recommend and will be going to her again. Just a heads up, though, it's cash only!

Rafaela runs her little wax parlor in the back section of a beauty salon, which was a little strange to see, but it didn't take away from the experience. The visit was short and quick and she was very kind and accommodating to me, even the fact that I was pregnant, she was so attentive and helpful to me, even helped me undress, dress, and clean-up. Not many salons will do that. We made small talk and I felt relaxed throughout the process. I was very happy with the results and being that this place is just a few blocks away from me, I will definitely return..... I used to go to "Sugaring NYC' in Manhattan and was never fully happy with the results and would spend 30$ more than here at SWC. I believe I've found my new sugaring salon!
