We have had a wonderful experience at Karate-do Ken Wa Kan over the past 4 years. Our 4 and 7 y/o have learned a lot and made great progress. We love all the teachers and students and the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and focused on each students’ unique needs and learning process! Under the leadership of Shihan Michelle and Sensei Zelda, the philosophy is focused on growth as an individual and part of a community. Our little ninjas LOVE their class and dojo!

What a brilliant place.

It is a really incredible workout and a very welcoming place to everyone across the spectrum. The friendly and polite students all help each other be better karate students, and the supportive and skilled teachers are there to set the pace to challenge us safely. Plus, it’s fun and a good source of stress relief.

My son started the karate program about 2 years ago as a 4yo and I immediately fell in love with how much each of the kids instructors (Sensei) impart into the kids not just in terms of the practice but also in terms of social emotional learning. They are so attuned to what is going on inside these kids, they have helped our son achieve tremendous growth in karate and for life in general. After realizing the benefits, I decided to join the adult program and can say that in addition to being a fantastic therapy and challenging workout, it's done wonders for my overall mental state and the community that runs and belongs to the dojo is reflective of all positive things that I look for in my life.

Both of my elementary aged children have been going to Karate-Do Ken Wa Kan for the last 2 years. It has been a great experience for them. I have see a great amount of emotional growth since starting karate. The dojo and its Shihan, Senseis and staff are warm and inviting. As we now approach the end of our first year with Ken Wa Kan, to say what we have both learned (We train together) has been truly life life altering, would be a huge understatement. I myself am now 1/4 way to Black Belt at 49 years young. Shihan Michelle, Sensei Zelda, and every Sensei and Senpai at Ken Wa Kan, meet you where you’re at, and prove to us that we can do anything, and that we are never too old or young to learn this truly beautiful Martial Art. Like my 13 year old daughter, and as I approach 50, I too have a greater confidence in my body and mind than ever before. Ken Wa Kan is a community and a family. A family that we will remain forever thankful to be a part of. The epic mother /daughter team of Shihan Michelle and Sensei Zelda Gay have truly created a Dojo Of Love. And Badassery. It’s home.

Karate Do Ken Wa Kan is a great dojo full of positive energy, fantastic team of teachers and wonderful community feel. Our daughter has been training at the dojo for 3 years and loves every minute of it. Dojo has a perfect balance of discipline, structure and fun and does a great job teaching children and adults skills of karate and beyond. Their transition and integration of remote learning was seamless and could not have been done better.

My 6, almost 7, yr old son loves this karate studio. Sensei David is wonderful with the kids. We’ve seen huge improvements in our son’s ability to focus thanks to Sensei David. Our son also loves attending the kids camp on school holidays and summer. He begs us to come pick him up late. Everyone who works and runs this studio is wonderful! Very caring community. I’m thinking of signing up for the adult karate class after seeing how quickly our son has picked it up and how good his form looks.
